HP Chromebook 13, to conquer the professional

HP presents its new Chrome OS device, the Chromebook 13. A computer marking a sharp move upmarket in the still small world of Chromebook, and clearly aimed at the professional market.

The new product releases Chrome OS are rare, and are mostly from the HP range, which is pursuing its strategy in the segment of Chromebook. It must be said that the American brand since last year abandoned the terminals Android and put both on the high end Windows Mobile and 10 in the world of PCs, all seeking to attract business customers. With the PC, certainly, but also of the Chromebook, as suggests the presentation of the new Chromebook 13 HP.

Up to 16GB of RAM

It is directly with Google that HP has partnered to design a device that, much like the Pixel, trying to shake the image "entry" suffered since their debut Chromebook. This is a device with a screen ranging between Full HD and qHD + (3200 × 1800 pixels) 13.3-inch IPS technology, and in which we find a Skylake generation processor, Intel Core M. the latter is associated in the minimum configuration proposed by HO, 4 GB of RAM (16GB maximum), and the device embeds 32GB of internal storage. A memory card reader, however, can easily exceed this limit.

Some additional details underline the premium positioning of this Chromebook, starting with the inclusion of two USB Type-C in addition to a USB 3.0, a backlit keyboard in an aluminum housing (1.3 kg ) and sound provided in partnership with Bang & Olufsen. It is now far from the Chromebook to use as extra as computers or as alternatives to PCs in schools.

Is that enough to convince professionals - the most likely to pay a minimum of $ 499 in this Chromebook 13 - to abandon their MacBook? Google seems to believe, since the device will be sold through the Chrome for Work Shop, by the month of May.
